Who is Astrid Nilsson?
I grew up in Linköping, where I also finished my studies. I studied Business and Administration, and before Agama I worked in a kindergarten for about 7 years, so coming from a teaching environment to a totally different one was a big change for me.
What is your story with Agama?
I found out about the job opportunities at Agama from a good friend of mine, who was also working for the company. She told me that they might want to hire someone for their Back-Office team. Structuring and organizing have always been my thing, so I thought that I could be a good match for the role. I went to an interview and about a week later I joined Agama in Cologne at the AngaCom fair.
What are your main responsibilities?
The best part is that I get to do a little bit of everything. I’m handling supplier invoices, incoming orders (order confirmations and invoicing), internal documentation, processes and time report. I try to support all the departments as much as I can. But I’m also planning activities for the company, like kick-offs, happy hour events etc.
What does a typical working day look like for you?
I always start my day with a cup of tea while going through my emails. Every day in the office can look different from another, but I usually handle supplier invoices, incoming orders, bookkeeping, and internal administration. On some other days, there can be more meetings, or I’m helping other departments. Sometimes I need to decorate the office or plan for happy hour, internal events, kick-offs etc. Not so many events nowadays, unfortunately, due to the pandemic, but hopefully we’ll go back to normal soon.
What is the main driver to keep you motivated?
I like the fact that I have so many different tasks, it keeps me motivated and interested in what I do. And moreover, because I am covering so many different areas, I’m always learning something new and this is a big plus for me.
How would you describe Agama to your family and friends?
I would describe it as an international company, where you get to meet people from different cultures, which is always an interesting aspect for me. Moreover, I like how Agama invests in everyone and gives you the opportunity to develop, and you can work pretty much from anywhere – that’s a big advantage. And last but not least, it’s a fun place to work at.
When you are not playing with the numbers or planning activities for our people, how is Astrid spending her free time?
I like to spend time with my friends and work out. Last year we decided to adopt a dog, so I’m spending a lot of time on long walks with him. This summer I went on a road trip to the north of Sweden with some friends to hike – this is something that I really enjoyed and would like to do more, and since our dog is a Husky-mix, that’s perfect for him as well!
